Have you ever wondered what happens to environmental samples once they reach the lab? Are you looking to upskill your interpretation and understanding of Lab QC? Come along to a tour of ALS Springvale for a peek behind the scenes. See the sample testing process from start to finish, followed by a lab QC from our site’s experienced quality coordinator Emily Yuen.

Spaces are limited, get in your registration early to avoid missing out.

Meet the presenters:

 

 

Emily Yuen
ALS

 

 

 

 

Since joining ALS Melbourne in 2002, Emily has navigated roles from a Laboratory Technician to Preparation Supervisor, Instrument Chemist and Organics 2nd in Charge. Her current role as a Quality Coordinator of maintaining and improving the Quality Management System is a testament to her commitment to upholding stringent NATA accreditation standards. Embracing a steadfast dedication to quality, Emily strives to deliver how quality assurance, control and improvement are critical elements for an environmental laboratory that not only meet but surpasses client’s expectations.

 

 

 

Scott Richardson
ALS

 

 

Scott is a Business Development Officer for ALS Environmental. With over 6 years’ experience working in analytical laboratories across Australia and New Zealand. Scott has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Waikato. 

 

 

 

Josh Alexander
ALS

 

 

 

 

Josh joined ALS Environmental in June 2019 following the completion of his BSc (Chemistry). Starting in the inorganics laboratory he quickly progressed through various soil and water analytical methods and instrumentations. For the past 2 years as a Project Manager, Josh is communicating and tailoring the wide breadth of ALS's testing capability to clients. In partnership he’s helping deliver testing programs for some of the most critical and challenging projects across Victoria, including for works associated with major infrastructure as well as complex contaminated land projects.

 

 

 

Bronwyn Sheen
ALS

 

 

Bronwyn has over 28 years’ experience in commercial laboratories.  Coming from an organic chemistry background she has held numerous production and client facing roles from Instrument Chemist through to Assistant Laboratory Manager.  During her time at ALS she has worked at both the Melbourne and Brisbane laboratories and has also recently spent time on secondments in Hamilton, New Zealand. Her current role of Client Services Manager for the Springvale site involves her overseeing all client facing areas of the laboratory from dispatch to client services and sample receipt.
