Do I qualify for discounted membership rates?  

ALGA currently offers discounts on Individual Membership rates to full-time students, graduates, retirees and the unemployed.

After I’ve joined how long before I start receiving benefits?

Benefits are immediate. You will have access to the Member Resource Centre, and will immediately qualify for the member price to any ALGA events.

When will my membership begin and how long does it run for?

Your Membership begins from the date it is created (you can sign up for a new membership any time of year) and runs until 31st December that same year.

I’m over 35 and don’t consider myself to be a “Young” Professional. Can I still be involved in the YP Group?

The YP group is open to all ALGA members of all ages, as are all events run by or listed as YP events. In fact, interaction between younger and older members is encouraged.

How do I update my member record?

Log on to the ALGA website using your email address and password to update your member record (you can update anything except your email address) at any time of the day or night. Alternatively you can post, phone or email the membership department. 


How do I update my Corporate Partnership record?

All changes to Corporate Partner details listed on our website (such as logo, address, email, phone or blurb will need to be emailed to the membership department.


Can I renew and pay for more than 12 months of membership?

No sorry, renewal can only be one year at a time.

What is a pro-forma tax invoice?

The pro-forma GST tax invoice issued for membership renewal is an ATO approved tax invoice. It is specifically designed for membership-based organisations who cannot enforce membership but must invite you to join or renew. Once payment is made against the pro-forma it automatically becomes a standard GST tax invoice/receipt. When payment is made a tax invoice/receipt will also be issued.

How do I connect with my local ALGA branch?

ALGA is an organisation where branches are fully integrated into the organisational structure. When you join ALGA you are automatically connected to your local branch.

If I leave my current employment does my membership travel with me?

Yes, provided you have individual membership status, your membership travels with you and will be valid for the remainder of the year- don't forget to update your contact details with us though!


Is my membership transferrable to another Individual?

No - all history is attached to an individual and can not be transferred to another individual. 

As an ALGA Corporate Partner are all our employees eligible for ALGA member discounts for events and products?

No - member discounts are available to individual members only. Corporate partnerships include a number of individual memberships, however individual employees would be required to apply for individual membership even if there is no cost.
