Trans-Tasmanian Session on PFAS Contamination and Remediation

Trans-Tasmanian Session on PFAS Contamination and Remediation

This session will help you to gain an overview of activities undertaken around PFAS in Australia and New Zealand. The first Trans-Tasman workshop on PFAS was organised in September 2019 at the University of Auckland with participants from industry, government and research institutions. The session will summarise the main points discussed, and the priorities identified to improve the management of PFAS.

We will conclude the session with audience driven questions and answers. Please email me at elearning@landandgroundwater.com with any detailed aspects of the subject you would like to see addressed.

Melanie Kah has recently joined the School of Environment at the University of Auckland as a Senior Lecturer. She has more than 10-year experience in research into the fate of contaminants in the environment. Her expertise into the fate of ionic and ionisable compounds and their interactions with carbonaceous materials is particularly relevant when dealing with issues related to the fate and remediation of PFAS.
