ON DEMAND - Statistical Methods for Data Assessment and Assessing Environmentally Significant Effects in the Land Contamination Industry

Following the revision of the MfE Contaminated Land Management Guidelines No.5 last year, the need for a contaminated land webinar focussed on use of statistics became apparent.

This presentation will cover:

  • comparing soil contamination data with a critical concentration
  • methods to assess environmentally significant effects

The presentation will also explain how the UK land contamination sector inadvertently became first in the world to move beyond p<0.05, the specific challenges of making a statistical guidance accessible to non-statisticians, and why the ASA (American Statistical Association) was delighted to hear about what CL:AIRE (Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments) had done.

The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
