Brominated Flame Retardants in the Environment
Presenter
Dr Bradley Clarke is a Senior Lecturer of Environmental Science at RMIT University. Brad’s research is focussed on real-world outcomes and partners with industry collaborators from the water sector, contaminated land as well as regulators. His primary expertise is on assessing the risk to public health and the environment from recalcitrant anthropogenic pollutants. He will discuss the emerging issue of brominated flame retardants (BFRs) in the Australian environment. This will includes a discussion of toxicology, presence in the environment and domestic environment, potential sources and regulator implications. This session will help you to understand the sources and fate of this class of chemicals. We will conclude the session with an audience driven question and answer.
