Defence UXO Management Manual Review Defence invited the UXO SIG to provide feedback on the DUXOMM to consider in its next update of the manual. The UXO SIG members collated feedback and comments and submitted this to Defence in June 2022. At the ALGA UXO SIG conference, Defence led a discussion on the DUXOMM updates and responded to some of the key feedback provided by the UXO SIG members.

DUXOMM Quality Management Process The DUXOMM does not currently have a defined quality management framework and there are plans for future updates to include a quality management chapter in the manual. Defence invited the UXO SIG to contribute a draft quality management process. A working group within the SIG has been formed to prepare draft process. Participants in the working group are Dave Humphreys, Scott Carroll, Paul McCabe, and Tom O’Connor. |

Standard Templates for Reports and Certificates At the UXO conference there was discussion on introducing standard templates for addition to the DUXOMM, such as the ‘Post project report’ (PPR), ‘Field validation survey’ (FVS), ‘Free From Explosives’ (FFE) and Destruction Certificates.
Mike Ransom and Carl Chirgwin agreed to take on this action. Best practice examples can be submitted to Mike and Carl for review and consideration. |
