ALGA is very pleased to announce that registration is now open for the three initial sessions of the new one-day ALGA/WasteMINZ Contaminated Site Safety Certificate course, to be delivered in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch late July 2020.

In early 2019, WasteMINZ and the Australasian Land and Groundwater Association (ALGA) recognised the need for practitioners to be familiar with the range of health and safety risks associated with site contamination investigations.

Subsequently, the two membership organisations joined forces to develop contaminated land health and safety training for their members. Both organisations recognised the paramount importance of personal safety for contaminated land practitioners, and agreed to work together with the best interests of the industry in mind.  The two organisations then partnered with Vertical Horizonz, an ISO9001:2015 Certificated, NZQA and ASQA accredited training organisation, to develop and deliver the training.  The course presumes some knowledge of contaminated sites and the work conducted on such sites.

Vertical Horizonz will be managing registrations. To register for the course, attendees must be working in the sector and be a member of either WasteMINZ or ALGA. Places are limited and registration is on a first come first served basis. If you miss out this time a wait list will be created and subsequent sessions will be planned at various locations, based on the level of committed interest.
