News Announcement: Matthew Potter Appointed Chairperson of the CEnvP Site Contamination Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee

We are pleased to announce that our CEO, Matthew Potter, has been appointed the new Chairperson of the CEnvP Site Contamination Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee (SC-SEAC). This prestigious position highlights Matt’s commitment to enhancing environmental standards and his active involvement in industry bodies worldwide.

As Matt steps into this important role, we would like to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to Amy Valentine, who is stepping down as Chairperson of SC-SEAC. Amy’s exceptional leadership and contributions have significantly advanced the field, and we appreciate her dedication.

Matt’s Vision for SC-SEAC

In his new role, Matt has outlined he would like to focus on two key areas during his term as Chair:

  1. Promoting CEnvP-SC Certification: Matt intends to advocate for CEnvP-SC certification as a prerequisite for all future contracts requiring contamination assessment/management across Australasia. This initiative aims to enhance the quality and accountability of environmental professionals in this vital area.
  2. Formalising Participation in the CEnvP-SC Certification Process: Another priority for Matt is to introduce changes to the CEnvP-SC certification process that would enable qualified government representatives and regulators to participate. This will foster collaboration between industry experts and regulatory bodies, leading to more effective environmental management strategies.

We congratulate Matt on this well-deserved appointment and look forward to the positive developments that will unfold under his leadership at SC-SEAC. Matt continues to serve in his role as CEO of ALGA while also taking on this new responsibility.
