An important update has been issued regarding proposed standards under the Industrial Chemicals Environmental Management Standard (IChEMS).
In light of current global developments and the Australian Government’s focus on protecting fuel supply chains, the proposed standards for the fuel additives 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenol (TTBP), butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) will not be finalised this financial year.
A second round of consultation is planned for later this year, providing stakeholders with additional time to assess the proposed requirements and prepare informed submissions.
Stakeholders are encouraged to continue submitting relevant information as part of the current consultation, which may inform revisions ahead of the next phase.
