Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) present a significant challenge in water treatment, particularly in landfill leachate and complex wastewater streams. The patented LEEF System® offers a commercially viable and environmentally compliant solution, providing high-efficiency PFAS removal with practical operational scalability.
This presentation will highlight case study results from the world’s largest fixed PFAS treatment system of its kind, implemented at the Bethlehem Landfill project in the USA. Additionally, we will introduce a breakthrough technology enhancement for short-chain PFAS removal, developed through WCG’s multi-million-dollar annual research program. This advancement incorporates a proprietary, low-toxicity, biodegradable additive, demonstrating highly repeatable success across multiple pilot plant and full-scale trials.
By aligning with PFAS NEMP 3.0 and supporting trade waste compliance, this innovation delivers a cost-effective, practical, and scalable solution for landfill leachate and other challenging water streams. Attendees will gain insights into the latest developments in PFAS treatment, supported by real-world data and research findings from our R&D and Technology Development teams.
Target Audience: Content will be general in nature and of interest to all practitioners involved in PFAS management.

Mark has over 35 years of experience in R&D, Technical Consultancy and Process Engineering Development for mining, industrial and waste clients. His focus in on applying water treatment technologies to complex, non-standard hydrometallurgical, mining and waste streams. He is the Technical Manager for The Water and Carbon Group leading the global R&D program, focusing on PFAS removal from landfill leachate.

Tom is a self-professed PFAS nerd and technical expert on PFAS remediation using innovative treatment technologies. Tom has worked on PFAS treatment projects across Australia using technologies which he has helped to develop from the R&D stage, into a commercial product, leading to industry-leading outcomes for clients.
