Gas and Vapour Symposium – What is the Risk?

Melbourne Connect

27 - 28 March 2025

ALGA’s Vapour & Gas and Risk Assessment Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are pleased to announce the 2025 Gas & Vapour “What is the Risk?” Symposium, scheduled to take place in Melbourne, in March 2025.
The Symposium will highlight the latest advancements in the investigation, assessment, and risk management of ground gas and vapour intrusion. It will provide valuable opportunities for technical development and networking, catering to both emerging professionals and senior practitioners in the environmental and waste management industries.
On Day 2, an optional half-day practical training session will be offered which will cover a brief theory about the principles of VOC vapour migration in the subsurface and how it differs from landfill gas migration and sources, and the various sampling methods, techniques and equipment used in both assessments. The workshop will have the latest equipment and preferred data collection approaches for risk assessment and site investigation. It is designed to be a practical demonstration (hands on) for new consultants and regulators or practitioners that have not been exposed to gas phase sampling and analysis. The presenters have a combined 45 years of experience in this field of investigation.
