Christchurch Branch Event – Practical Soil Management in Canterbury: Disposal, Reuse, and Industry Collaboration

Managing contaminated and potentially contaminated soils remains one of the most significant challenges facing projects across Canterbury.

Balancing regulatory requirements, disposal constraints, project delivery pressures, and opportunities for soil reuse requires effective collaboration between consultants, contractors, landfill operators, and regulators. This event brings together representatives from across the industry to discuss practical aspects of soil management, including soil disposal, soil reuse, and the information required to support efficient decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Topics will include:

    • Practical challenges associated with soil disposal and reuse.
    • What contractors and regulators need from consultants to support efficient project delivery.
    • Common issues and misunderstandings encountered during soil management projects.
    • Opportunities to improve communication and collaboration across the industry.
    • Current initiatives aimed at increasing soil reuse and promoting more sustainable soil management practices.

Join us for an engaging discussion on how Canterbury can move towards more practical, efficient, and sustainable soil management outcomes.
