Beneficial re-use of soil continues to be at the forefront of discussion within the Contaminated Land sector, and we must all play a part in reducing the unnecessary disposal of these resources to landfill.
At this event, we will hear how Auckland Council is navigating soil optimisation through the regulatory framework and that the process should be encouraged and not viewed as a barrier. We will delve into the Strategic Framework for Optimising Soil Management, recently published by WasteMINZ and how this framework can practically be applied to improve opportunities for soil reuse on infrastructure and development projects. Finally, we will share some case studies where soil re-use has been done well and not so well.
We strongly encourage environmental practitioners operating in the Auckland Region to attend this event.
