Fate and Transport of Emerging Contaminants

Dr. Sarmah from University of Auckland will kick off this year’s sessions by discussing his research in fate and transport emerging contaminants including natural (free and conjugated hormones) and synthetic estrogens, veterinary and human pharmaceuticals in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems.
The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Drinks and nibbles will be served during the networking session.
About the Presenter
Dr. Sarmah is an Associate Professor in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department within the Environmental Engineering Group. Prior to joining The University of Auckland, he was a Senior Research Scientist with Landcare Research, a Crown Research Institute (CRI) in Hamilton, NZ for nearly 10 years.
He currently leads multi-disciplinary research projects in a number of topical and environmentally significant areas. He has published 125 journal articles, several book chapters and his work has been cited ~10000 times and has h-index of 45. Ajit has supervised 14 PhD and several MEng students to completion to date and maintains a strong scientific network of scientists/engineers working in multi-disciplinary fields across the globe.
