Luke McLeod, Assistant Secretary PFAS Investigation and Management at Department of Defence, will share insights and lessons learned from his program of 28 detailed environmental investigations which broke new ground on a number of fronts.
As Defence transitions from investigating PFAS to remediation and management, Luke will share the new challenges he is encountering and discuss how industry and academia can provide solutions.
About the Presenter
Luke McLeod is the Assistant Secretary PFAS Investigation and Management. Luke is accountable for the delivery of the largest program of detailed environmental investigations in Australia, providing support to affected communities consistent with Government policy, collaborating with government stakeholders within the Commonwealth and across State/Territory jurisdictions, and, in partnership with industry, identifying and implementing effective management and remediation initiatives.
Luke McLeod joined the Department of Defence as an APS Office Trainee in 1992 and has spent 26 years in Defence performing various roles primarily within the Estate & Infrastructure Group. He has led the Defence PFAS Investigation and Management program since November 2016.
