Comparison of Advanced Technologies to Remove PFAS from Water
As PFAS in water continues to be a concern for regulators, landholders and communities around the globe, remediation technologies continue to be developed while technologies for many other contaminants are in a mature state. Determining the advantages and disadvantages of these technologies can be challenging and through this presentation Steve Woodard, Chief Technology Officer from ECT2, will highlight which technologies best suit specific circumstances. Steve will also discuss his observations from ECT2’s work across Australia, the US and Europe.
Steve is the President and co-founder of ECT2 (Emerging Compounds Treatment Technologies). ECT2 is a specialist provider of cutting edge technology solutions to remove emerging and difficult to treat contaminants from water and vapour. Steve has led the process design, installation, commissioning and operation of multiple PFAS water treatment systems across Australia and the US with pilot systems commencing operations in Europe. Steve’s focus is currently on commercializing Synthetic Media technologies for the sustainable treatment of PFAS, 1,4-dioxane, vapour-phase pollutants and other emerging contaminants. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Purdue University in 1992.
