All Things Dewatering

Andy Goulstone, DPIE, will present on regulation of monitoring bores (i.e. when they need a license), groundwater works near or in contaminated areas, and pump and treat activities at contaminated groundwater sites.

WaterNSW has recently updated its approval processes for groundwater dewatering for construction and groundwater remediation purposes.  An overview of the update will be presented by Dr James McMahon of JM Environments.  The presentation, prepared in conjunction with WaterNSW, will step through the approvals application process from planning to final reporting.  An Officer from WaterNSW will be on the webinar to take questions from the floor.

Mark Forbes, Pumps United, will share some practical insights based on his 25 years of dewatering sites including:

  • Types of dewatering.
  • Tying the right method to the anticipated ground conditions.
  • DMP’s (Dewatering Management Plans).
  • Discharge challenges.
  • Industry update – HRIA lobbying Water NSW / DPI on workable outcomes.
