New Zealand in Focus

CEO Address

It is a pleasure to introduce this New Zealand focused edition of e-cronicle, which highlights the breadth of engagement and activity underway across Aotearoa New Zealand within the contaminated land and groundwater industry. New Zealand remains a key geographic focus for the Association, representing more than 500 members. This edition explores the unique geographic, cultural and regulatory context in which practitioners operate, perspectives that are central to how we support and inform the industry.

This edition also provides an ideal lead in to our inaugural joint conference with WasteMINZ, to be held in Wellington from 18 to 21 May 2026. The joint conference reflects the feedback we have received from the industry and reinforces the value of collaboration, where sharing the distinct strengths of each organisation delivers better outcomes. Through this partnership, the contaminated land and groundwater management sessions have been carefully developed alongside the waste and resource recovery program.

I would like to thank the WasteMINZ team for their positive and constructive approach, and the CLM Committee for their commitment and expertise in shaping the contaminated land management sessions. We look forward to welcoming delegates from across New Zealand and Australia.
