Welcome Address
Collaboration and engagement are at the core of ALGA’s identity. When I hear members describe ALGA, the words that consistently resonate are inclusiveness, diversity, breadth of sector engagement, and professionalism. These qualities are what make our Association unique and something we should all take pride in.
In shaping this edition’s theme, we reflected on how we engage across our sector, from inspiring the next generation of contaminated land and groundwater practitioners, through to the consultation that underpins complex remediation projects, and the policy and regulatory frameworks that guide our work. You will hear directly from members sharing their insights, challenges, and achievements.
Our approach continues to open doors nationally and internationally. Recently, Dane Egelton delivered vapour intrusion training at RemTech Europe 2025, and Kate Hughes presented at Sustainathon 2025 on learning from the past to avoid repeating mistakes.
Looking ahead, ecoforum 2025 is fast approaching, with registrations nearing 600. The Program offers something for everyone, and for those in Brisbane, four training workshops provide an extra opportunity to upskill. I am grateful to the organising Committee and ALGA team for creating a truly world-class Program, and I look forward to seeing many of you there.
I hope you enjoy this edition of e-cronicle.
