A Quick History Lesson

Before ALGA owned EcoForum, it was held every year between 2007 and 2012, mainly in Sydney, with stream topics such as climate change, water, waste and communication. ALGA, as a partner of EcoForum, ran two-day streams each year on contaminated land assessment, management and remediation. In 2012 ALGA accepted the opportunity, by the owners of EcoForum, to purchase the brand with a view to further developing the event in the best interest of, and focussing on, the contaminated land industry in Australia and New Zealand.

ALGA ran its first EcoForum, as the new owners, in 2014 on the Gold Coast, Qld. With 457 delegates and exhibitor staff from Australia, New Zealand and 5 overseas countries, it received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Conference papers are available to download via our online library (ALGA members only).

EcoForum 2016 was hosted by the beautiful city of Fremantle, WA. With 478 attendees from all over Australia, the overall theme was “One Planet – Resilience and Innovation in a Time of Uncertainty and Conflict” with 5 stream themes of innovation, uncertainty, resilience, conflict and future-proofing. Conference papers are available to download via our online library (ALGA members only).

The 2018 EcoForum Conference & Exhibition was held in the iconic destination of Darling Harbour, Sydney with a record number of 645 delegates. The program included a world class PFAS Summit pre-conference with a focus on engaging with stakeholders rather than discussion of technical issues, plus local & international speakers & keynotes, from a wide range of industries & geographies, presented throughout the conference streams. Conference papers are available to download via our online library (ALGA Members only).

2019 EcoForum was held for the first time in New Zealand at Pullman Auckland from 3rd - 5th September. Prior to 2019 this was branded as the ‘NZ Contaminated Land Conference’ (held every year from 2013 to 2018).

Attending the 2020 EcoForum Conference & Exhibition as a delegate and/or exhibitor will allow you to update your professional and practical knowledge about the issues that matter in today’s fast paced and challenging world. It will also give you the opportunity to meet prospective clients and expand your peer group network of environment industry professionals working in all areas of the remediation industry.
