Management of Asbestos-in-Soil (ASBINS) DRAFT Position Paper - Industry Feedback Summary as at 23 March 2020

New Zealand Guidelines for Assessing and Managing ASBESTOS IN SOIL (formerly a BRANZ / ALGA document).

Asbestos is a health hazard driven by fibres in the air. The NZ Guidelines for Assessing and Managing Asbestos in Soil takes the New Zealand industry step by step through the process of identifying, assessing and managing asbestos in soil. The guidelines provide a practical approach for industry practitioners (consultants, contractors and regulators) that is specific to NZ – our soils, climate, lifestyle, history and regulations.

Please note: These guidelines are currently under review by the ALGA Asbestos Interest Group and are open for comment. Please direct all comments to igs@landandgroundwater.com
