The Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA) Ltd is pleased to provide sponsorship for 10 university students to attend an EcoForum Conference & Exhibition.
Successful candidates will be offered free entry to the conference which attracts some of the best and brightest industry practitioners across a wide range of industries associated with key resource, energy and development sectors of the economy. Sponsored students will also have the opportunity to display their work in the Poster Sessions.
To apply for student sponsorship to Ecoforum 2016, an Expression of Interest (EOI) should be sent to the ALGA Organising Committee by June 30th, 2016. The EOI should include the student’s course details, the topic of the proposed poster, a brief statement outlining why the student wishes to attend the conference and the benefits s/he may gain from this. ALGA will sponsor 10 students and cover their conference entry fee and transport and travel costs. Both full-time and part-time students may apply.
ALGA is able to sponsor successful applications by means of providing a complimentary 2 day registration (valued at approx AUD$1200.00) as well as support to travel costs up to the value of AUD$500.00.
Successful "sponsored students" are required to submit an abstract and prepare a poster for the event. At EcoForum the chair of each poster session randomly selects poster presenters for an “elevator pitch only” – which will then be eligible for the ALGA Student Award. The ALGA Student Award will be judged on the basis of your poster presentation with the judging panel comprising the ALGA Board. The award will comprise complimentary membership with ALGA for the next year, publication of an article in the CRONICLE (the ALGA eMagazine) on the poster, and AU$500.00 cash.
The guidelines for presenting a poster can be found obtained from the ALGA Head Office. These guidelines are provided with the aim of assisting you for planning your presentation and to ensure a smooth running conference.
The conference includes a dedicated “Student Corner” in the exhibition hall, where all Student Posters are on display (in a high traffic area, adjoining the main Poster Presentation Area). The Student Corner is set up to provide an area where delegates can meet and interact with students during the conference. It is equipped with a dedicated computer, which can be used by students to show delegates information – such as a presentation of your poster, research data or other information which you may wish to show delegates.
The ALGA Board and the EcoForum Organising Committee are delighted to be able to offer this sponsorship opportunity.
