COMING TO HOBART! Landfill Leachate Management
Page Seager Lawyers - RACT House Level 2, 179 Murray Street, Hobart, Tasmania 7000, Australia
Leachate management is a challenge facing councils and regulators as landfill leachates have a very complex and variable composition. Leachate can contain a variety of contaminants at concentrations potentially much higher than that of an urban wastewater treatment plant.
This event will include presentations about leachate management and treatment systems being currently implemented in Tasmania:
Erica Deegan will give her 2017 ALGA Annual Industry Excellence Award for Sustainable Remediation Project Recognition, winning presentation on the wetlands treatment system designed by Syrinx at the Burnie landfill.
Rob Casimaty will discuss the engineering design of the Category C-cell currently being finalised in Copping and associated dual leachate treatment system.
Luke Finley will present historical and current leachate management at the Baretta landfill and the challenges encountered such as maintaining leachate onsite, the PFAS curve ball and leachate plumes.
- Erica Deegan, Syrinx
- Rob Casimaty, Pitt & Sherry
- Luke Finley, Elgin
Lunch served from 12 (noon) to 12.30pm. Presentations until 2.00pm.
